About Allen-Built

Allen-Built is a custom residential and light commercial remodeler. Experience, low overhead, efficient management, and hard work enable us to deliver the highest-quality product at a reasonable price. We currently serve clients who are endeavoring to build a unique product, clients who recognize the talents we offer and realize that a successful project is the result of a good working relationship between builder and owner. We bring manpower, equipment, and materials to the project and do this without the luxury of prototypes or controlled conditions. Experience teaches how to proactively avoid problems, but unique projects are always challenging.

Relationships

Allen-Built prefers to work hand-in-hand with the owner and designer. Each of us is part of the production team. We are all responsible for making timely decisions to ensure that the project stays on schedule. However, problems often arise, and how these problems are resolved separates the good builders from the great. Defective products, delays due to weather, inspectors, or permits, or even changes requested by the owner can impact the project. Frequent communication, documentation, and meetings are vital to minimize the impact.

Design/Build

From feasibilty studies, to design and permitting, to construction and maintenance, Allen-Built is a turn-key contractor who is capable of guiding you through the entire process.

When you choose Allen-Built, you get a contractor who will build you something truly unique. We share a passion for clean lines and creative use of raw materials.  Its the simplest details that can draw the biggest impact.

HGTV’s “Designed to Sell”

HGTV approached Allenbuilt when they first came to DC to tape new episodes of their hit series “Designed to Sell.”  Not only did they need a licensed contractor who could build anywhere in the DC area, but they needed one who could deliver whatever the producers and designers came up with. This meant working under serious time restrains, all while having fun with the camera. Allen-Built was their choice.

While we certainly wouldn’t suggest that you hire a contractor who will treat your home like a television set, it speaks volumes that Allen-Built was chosen to represent DC in 22 episodes.
